EviCountry was designed with features that are very different from those of traditional light electric vehicles.
The combination of all-wheel drive, an industrial chassis, high load capacity, and N1 certification allows the vehicle to operate both on the road and in particularly challenging off-road conditions.
However, these characteristics require higher safety standards, especially when the vehicle is used to carry heavy loads or on terrain with steep slopes.
For this reason, EVI Motor has launched a program to optimize the braking system in collaboration with Vimoter’s technical team.
From Operational Needs to Custom Design
The collaboration between the two companies began at Bauma, one of the leading international trade shows for industrial vehicles and professional machinery.
During the technical meetings, it became clear that a braking solution with better performance than the configurations used in the early stages of the project needed to be developed.
The goal was not simply to replace certain components, but to design a system capable of ensuring consistent performance, safety, and reliability even under the most severe operating conditions.
After a series of comparative tests and engineering evaluations, a specific configuration based on 2×44 calipers was selected; it was developed to ensure optimal stopping distances and a progressive braking response up to a maximum speed of 80 km/h.
The entire system was designed as an integrated solution comprising:
- dedicated brake calipers;
- specific wiring harnesses;
- optimized components;
- Brake disc custom-designed for the EviCountry frame.
This approach has made it possible to achieve maximum integration between the vehicle’s mechanical, electronic, and dynamic systems.
The most important test: the test with a total mass of 9 metric tons
In the world of commercial vehicles, theory must always be backed up by practice.
To validate the new braking system, EVI Motor put EviCountry through a particularly rigorous test.
The vehicle was coupled to an airport tow trailer, resulting in a combined gross weight of approximately 9,000 kg—an extremely demanding condition far exceeding typical daily operating scenarios.
The result confirmed the success of the project.
Even under extreme stress, the braking system continued to provide an effective, progressive, and controlled response, ensuring stability, safety, and operational reliability.
